Our Story
We’ve built. We’ve backed. We’ve learned.
Building a company changes how you think about investing.
Why 03VC exists
A different seat at the table
From the outside, venture capital can seem like a search for exceptional ideas. From the founder’s seat, the reality is more demanding.
Customers, distribution, regulation, economics and execution ultimately determine whether an idea becomes an enduring business.
Our perspective has been shaped by building financial technology businesses and investing in early-stage companies. Six investments have reinforced a simple conviction: great founders need more than enthusiasm for their technology. They need a business worth building.
That’s the thinking behind 03VC.
Founder perspective
Shamaz Khan
Founder, 03VC
Shamaz is a technology founder and early-stage investor with experience building companies across fintech, financial infrastructure and enterprise software.
He leads diligence, invests alongside the companies 03VC backs and works with founders after the round closes — on hiring, pricing, distribution and the next round.
Conviction is earned through understanding.
We write things down plainly
The thesis, the risks and the open questions — the same reasoning we use to decide.
We judge the business
Customers, economics and distribution matter more than the narrative behind them.
We stay involved
The work after the wire is usually what decides whether an early company survives its own growth.
